The bodice and sleeves are cut in one with an uneven dart creating the gathers at the shoulder, supported by shoulder pads. Details include Hong Kong finished underarm gusset and piping finish at neckline and waist.
The side back skirt panel is pleated separately, then stitched into the waistline and center back. Shown in-progress and as part of the final dress.

Final dress with plaids matched at the waistline. It closes with an invisible zipper and snaps under the front bodice flap.
